About me

Hi, I’m Mina! I’m currently a Fourth Year Medical Student studying in the UK. My journey to this point has been anything but straightforward. I started with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from the University of Aberdeen, followed by a Master’s in Drug Discovery and Development from Imperial College London. Though I was initially set on a career in research, it didn’t quite feel right, leading me to explore opportunities in management consulting and banking. I eventually secured a job at one of the MBB firms in consulting.

However, I realized that my true passion lies in medicine and research, with a desire not only to develop treatments but also to put them into practice. This realization led me to secure an offer to study medicine, and I can now confidently say that I’m pursuing the right career for me.

I understand how challenging it can be to choose a career path at a young age. I want to show others that you’re not bound by the choices you make at 16—every day is an opportunity to pivot and create the life and career you truly want. I’m still learning and evolving daily, striving for excellence in my life (often struggling along the way).

I created this blog to share my story and help others with theirs—whether you’re applying to consulting, pursuing a career in medicine, or figuring things out as you go. I hope to share what I learn with everyone who visits this blog and, in turn, learn from you as well.
